
Did you know that the average attention span these days is around 8 seconds? When I learned that, I was shocked. It’s no wonder that social media creators spend so much effort on their content just to get their audience to watch a 15-second video.
I learned this in 2022 when I did something that changed my life: starting a YouTube channel. It may not sound like much, but growing an audience, monetizing my channel, and getting my first brand sponsorship changed my perspective on life.
In the process of building my audience, I learned so many valuable tips from thumbnail designers, video editors, and script writers on how to hook people in the age of short attention spans. I won’t list all of the strategies here, but, let me tell you, there are a lot of them. We need to strategically combine them all if we want to increase our chances at success in anything we do these days, even applying to jobs.
